Whether on their own or together, a black and white combination always makes a bold statement. Using the 2 ends of the spectrum such as black and white in this living room, we created an upscale and luxurious ambience.
We decided to paint the walls in Benjamin Moore’s “OC-27 Balboa Mist” to introduce a warm greige shade and create a contrast with the pure crisp white wall trims, chair rails and mouldings painted in Benjamin Moore’s “OC-65 Chantilly Lace”. We incorporated trim details to add a subtle sophistication and transitional touch to the clean modern furniture.
This white and black haven features two 9’ Cristof sofas that are symmetrical and are upholstered in a plush JF chenille. We paired them with two eye-catching Lauren wing chairs and two Noa poufs to continue the symmetrical effect. The Lauren chairs are upholstered in a black Maxwell chenille leopard print adding drama and edge while the Noa poufs are upholstered in a Telefina geometric cut velvet creating a focal point and elevating the room.
The Kate Spade hand-tufted wool rug delineates the room with this rectangular double border. It provides a solid base that adds dimension and depth to each piece of furniture. The living room is also balanced nicely with the white matte Carrara marble coffee table that is contrasting with the surrounded dark furnishings. By introducing metal accents in antique brass, bronze and satin silver we exuded a sense of warmth and richness. Keeping the monochrome palette, we accessorized with black, white and gold accessories to highlight the room.
