Cameo was established in 1960 as a sofa and sofa-bed manufacturer in Quebec. The family owned business gained success and notoriety through their superior quality sofa-beds. That continues until today and has improved through new systems and mechanisms for an even better sleep.
In 2013, Zareh Der Meguerditchian and Natalie Madjarian took ownership of brand name Cameo and started a new company incorporating the Cameo name. With new management, Cameo was revamped and today our showroom features trendy and innovative pieces and accessories. Nowadays, the business is equal parts sofa-beds and custom pieces such as sofas, sectionals, chairs, kitchen benches, headboards, bunk beds, murphy beds and much more. We have recently added accessories that are available to purchase as gifts for various occasion or as accessories for your own space.
Interior designers and clients love the Cameo concept because there they can design their own pieces with no restrictions. A visit to our showroom is truly exciting because the options are there for you and the actual process of designing your piece is quite simple.
Typically, a designer or client will choose or modify a style from our showroom. Modifications to depths and heights are also offered and can be adjusted according to their liking. From there we enter our fabric and leather gallery where we have over 5000 choices of high quality fabrics to chose from. Once that step is completed, they are also able to choose their comfort (ranging from hard to soft), their stitching (whether it is French stitching or piping) and last but not least, they could also choose the colour and type of foot (whether it is wood or metal). The beauty of this process is that whether it is a custom or standard piece, it could be delivered in 3-4 weeks. We are especially proud that we are manufacturing here in Quebec. We’re proud to be able to employ Canadian workers and create Canadian products. This is beneficial to clients and designers because aside from buying a Canadian product, they are paying manufacturer rates and not retail prices.
Since September 2016, Valentina Manoukian joined Cameo as the In-House Interior Designer. A graduate of the Interior Design program at Dawson College, the up and coming designer has a knack for combining functionality and style to create spaces that are both inspiring and always have a touch of flair. “I strongly believe that a space only becomes perfect when it truly reflects the individual and their lifestyle.”
From the start, Cameo was known for its high and long lasting quality. No matter how much we progress and grow, we will never lose sight of who we are, a company that strives for excellence by improving and integrating high quality materials and craftsmanship coupled with individualized customer service.
“We are planning many exciting and innovative projects and pieces for 2017. Cameo is evolving with the trends but we will always stay true to our quality and that is the key.”
Think Custom. Think Cameo.
Made for you to love, to last and to live on.
